Upon learning about Sedona, AZ on Aerial America (a TV show), 7 months later I found myself surrounded by rich red cliffs and sweltering heat in Arizona’s north. As you drive into Sedona, you can’t help but let your jaw drop at the natural scenery around you. The whole town is coloured in bold dark orange/red, with hints of green and blue. Eager to get to the hotel and rest after a long drive, I made my way to Best Western Plus – Arroyo Roble Hotel and Creekside Villas.
Don’t you love that feeling of anticipation when you check-in at a hotel and you can’t wait to see how your room looks like?
I eagerly rolled my luggage into the elevator and made my way up… opened the door… and was welcomed with beautiful space and light! I excitedly ran inside, kicked off my shoes and swan-dived onto the fresh, white, king-sized bed.
After sinking into the mattress, it was a struggle to get up and explore the town. But I reluctantly got up (it was a very short moment of reluctance) and walked over to the balcony. The website did not lie – it was the perfect view of wondrous mountains.
But what about the bathroom? Although it could have been a bit bigger given the size of the whole room, it ticked all the boxes. Adequate bench space, a working shower and plenty of toiletry items and towels (although I always use the same towel every day #sustainability).
As for everything else, the hotel offered a range of activities, spa treatments, and there was a short trail just behind the hotel. Parking was available for guests and the staff at reception were very warm and friendly.
The location was central, with numerous options for food, souvenir shopping, information centres and guided tours. We were a short drive away from the famous Chapel of the Holy Cross, which is perched on top of a cliff.
If you want a little luxury in a convenient location on a mid-range budget, Best Western Plus – Arroyo Roble Hotel and Creekside Villas is the way to go!
