About Tripping Over Travel

Tripping Over Travel (TOT) was created in 2015 by Melbourne-born travel enthusiast Angie. TOT initially began as an Instagram profile, displaying travel photos, both past and present, from Angie’s adventures home and abroad. As experience and knowledge grew, plus a personal interest in photography, TOT evolved into a colourful, insightful and wander-full blog.

The purpose of TOT is to educate and entertain others to explore our beautiful world. Whether it is through the destinations, culture, food or local people, TOT is a global platform for sharing the excitement of travel through personal stories and imagery.

About Angie

Hi, my name is Angie. I am from Melbourne, Australia and I’m the creator of Tripping Over Travel.

Since 2008 I have visited just over 30 countries with the aim of increasing this count. In the traditional sense of the word, my earliest travel experiences were mostly interstate trips to Sydney to visit family. However, for my entire life, I have travelled through music, and I believe this was the beginning of my lust for escapism. My desire to travel the world comes from the need to escape the norm, jump out of my comfort zone, challenge myself and learn about life.

As I write this, I can proudly say I have been to parts of Europe, Asia, North, South and Central America, and taken mini-trips around Australia. I simply want to see as much of the world as possible and meet new people along the way. I am intrigued by the way of life of people across the globe and I thoroughly enjoy observing people go about their daily lives, wondering what their story is. I also like to be wowed! Travel provides a lot of “wow” moments.

So welcome to Tripping Over Travel! I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures and it inspires you to live the life you want for yourself.
